The United Nations General Assembly has declared 11 February as the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. The primary objective of this day is to inspire women to pursue careers in research and to ensure equal opportunities for their participation in the scientific community.

Women scientists are also significantly represented in the field of vertebrate management research. We are pleased to announce that three distinguished female plenary speakers will be presenting their latest findings at the 14th European Vertebrate Management Conference (EVMC 2025): Ancuta Fedorca (National Institute for Research and Development in Forestry “Marin Dracea”) from Romania, Heidi C. Hauffe (Fondazione Edmund Mach; National Biodiversity Future Center (NBFC)) from Italy and Sabine Begall (University of Duisburg-Essen) from Germany.

We look forward to their valuable contributions to the conference.
